This week's YOU TAKEOVER TUESDAY request comes from my friend, Lisa, who's the mommy to almost two year old Isaac. She wrote:
I'm trying to find some sort of mother's jewelry with Isaac's initial. I know necklaces are a big trend right now but I'm not particularly a necklace person. I actually prefer rings but I'm not into the birthstone/diamond rings that I've seen. Any ideas of how to "wear" Isaac's initial in a simple, pretty way that's also not too expensive?
Let me start off by saying I love mother's jewelry. My husband and the girls got me a great necklace with their names, birth date and their birthstone on disc charms. I wear it a lot but sometimes the style doesn't work with the neckline of I've got on so I think the mother's ring, which you can wear with just about anything, is terrific. So Lisa, here are a few suggestions for you.
This gorgeous sterling silver Monogram Ring from DMH Designs is hand cut and hammered. The version shown here features three initials but Denise, the artist who makes this beautiful piece, said she'd be happy to make it with just a single letter as well.
I really like how substantial this ring is. It will definitely get noticed, and look -- it's already got an I for Isaac!
Another fun option is the Name in the Stars Ring Stack from Punky Bunny Designs.
It's a two ring set made from sterling silver but they sit so close when you wear them that they look like one.
This Name in the Stars Ring Stack looks so sweet when it's on your finger and will show everyone just who your little star is!
We're going from dainty to industrial with these fantastic Stacker Initial Rings from Tinahdee.
Make from sterling silver, they have a rough finish that makes them really unique. Lisa, you could wear just one with the letter I or add two more with an L and an S to create a family monogram like this:
Tinahdee also offers these rings in sterling and copper:
And my personal favorite, sterling and gold:
A set like this is also perfect for the MoMs out there and other mothers of more than one child - you can get an initial ring for each one. So sweet!
And last, but certainly not least, is the Alphabet Ring from Trudie Davies Designs.
I love the polished simplicity of this ring on its own but it's also quite versatile. You can buy it as part of the Alphabet Stack Ring Set to make more of a statement:
You can also get a larger Alphabet Ring with the Stackables:
Or you can go for both sized initial rings with the Two Alphabet Rings Stackable Set:
As I was posting these ideas, I kept changing my mind about which style I like best. Each one is so unique and beautiful in its own way that it's hard to choose. In the end, I honestly don't think you can go wrong with any of them. If any dads out there are reading this, now you have some ideas for a holiday gift for your wife!
Lisa, I hope one of these rings fits the bill for what you were looking for! Be sure to let us know which one you pick. And don't go away yet -- I've got a few more things to share with you.
Trudie Davies Designs has graciously offered to give away one of her fabulous Alphabet Tiny sterling silver rings to a lucky AFOMFT reader!
