FAVORITE WEBSITE WEDNESDAY: Creature Comforts

A lot of the blogs I read are design-centric.  I'm not currently designing anything but I like to look at pretty things to get inspired.  One of my current favorite sources of inspiration is Creature Comforts, a beautiful blog chock full of eye candy in all shapes and forms.

Creature Comforts first caught my eye last year with a great tutorial on DIY Eco-Happy Pom Pom Gift Toppers.  A cute idea that's eco-friendly?  Awesome.  A simple idea that's cute and eco-friendly?  Even better!

In just eight easy steps, Creature Comforts showed me how to turn an unwanted Target bag into something fun and usable.  I subscribed to the blog then and there.

Every day, I enjoy checking out the features that Ez, the brains behind the blog, pulls together.  Somehow, she finds the prettiest images for inspiration:

Creates the greatest free downloads:

And puts together the most creative Chic for Cheap design boards:

And on top of all of that, Ez still manages to create beauty in her home too.  Just look at the amazing room she designed for her 10 year old daughter:

I love the colors, I love the vintage books, I love the turquoise mirror - I love it all.  So I was super excited when I saw the tutorial on how to create the fantastic fabric flower garland around the mirror was featured on Creature Comforts

Not only did Ez use the garland in her daughter's room but she also created a few strands for the holidays:

I love the idea of making decorations that you can use every year and even for multiple events - holidays, birthdays, dinner parties or any other time you want to pretty up your place.  And guess what?  There's no sewing required!  If you're looking for a great project to do with your kids, this is definitely it.

Ready to get your garland going?  You can find the step by step instructions along with the template for the flowers in Ez's DIY Fabric Flower Garland post.  And while you're there, be sure to check out the rest of Creature Comforts.  After all, everybody needs a little eye candy now and then.
