CRAFTASTIC: My Funny Valentines

What can I say?  I'm a sucker for all things heart (my birthday is on February 14th, go figure!) so I was super excited when I found these two simple heart art projects I can do with my 17 month olds for Valentine's Day.

The first comes from the sassy sisters at Roots & Wings, Co.

How cute are these Handprint Hearts?  And they're so so easy.  Just put a little paint into a little hand.

And make two prints that interlock to form a heart.

I'm thinking about making these as a gift for the grandparents (oops, hope you're not reading this, Mom!) and since I have twins, I thought it would be nice to intertwine their prints, with Gabrielle's hand in white and Alaina's in red.  Another fun option is to have each child make one heart and display them together like this.

Adorable, right?

I also love this great Heart-print from a blog you've seen me post about before, B.Kids.

This craft is easy peasy too.  Just paint the side of your child's closed fist in red paint, use it to stamp half a heart onto a piece of white paper, repeat with the other hand and presto!  Another fabulous piece of Heart Art.

I think I'm also going to try this with both girls' prints forming one heart.  There's just something I love about that idea.

So there you have it.  Two easy and inexpensive keepsakes you'll still love long after Valentine's Day has come and gone.
